LOS ANGELES, CA – January 13, 2015 – Qual-Pro Corporation, an industry leading electronics manufacturing service provider for high-reliability, mission-critical electronics, today announced that the company’s Gardena plant has selected Pemtron Technology Eagle 8800 3D automated optical inspection (AOI) system to manufacturing solution. The specific model chosen is the Eagle 8800TXL-HSL, a stand-alone 3D AOI system with high-speed capability, and equipped to handle extra-large board sizes. The system can inspect at 40.5cm2/second, according to Pemtron’s General Manager Steven T. Wongsonvanee.
Features of the Eagle 8800 series include fast program setup, 3D AOI, a low false call rate, and SPC capability. Color imaging enhances the accuracy and precision of AOI to provide more true-to-life inspection images for the operator and to help reduce the false call rate. The company’s algorithms can identify features on the surface of the PCB, from solder paste prints to lifted leads, selectively and accurately.
